About me

I am musician and circus acrobat, combining both playing the saxophone upside down on the trapeze. Through my performances I let my audience discover a new world, a colourful and crazy place full of emotions and groove.

Born in Germany I have been playing music from the age of six years on. My second childhood passion .. circus .. brought me to the State School of Circus Arts in Berlin. I followed a professional training for trapeze artists and kept on playing music in Berlin. Countless concerts and recordings with the band Tiefenrausch Ska evoke the dream of bringing my saxophone playing to the next level and I moved to the Netherlands to obtain a Bachelor of Jazz at Maastricht Conservatory.

Attracted by the rich mixture of cultures I later moved to Brussels, where I played with jazz bands and produced own cross-over shows which toured in several European countries. Traveling to Senegal I was captivated by music and ‘teranga’ and I decides to move to Dakar. I performed with well-known artists as Souleymane Faye and Titi, exploring the wide range of African music. African sounds inspire me a lot in my own, very unique, style of composing.

I lately did some very interesting projects with Kyekyeku, singer and guitarist from Ghana, and Désiré Somé, guitarist and composer from Burkina Faso and won the Beyond Music Creativity Award collaborating with Jean Louis Mbé and Ueli Gasser.

I love traveling, nature and languages and I speak German, English, French, Dutch and Spanish.
